POSITION OVERVIEW
The Infant & Toddler Music Instructor provides specialized music enrichment services for children ages 0–4 and their caregivers. As an independent contractor, you will bring your unique expertise to create joyful, developmentally appropriate musical experiences that support language, motor, social, and emotional development. The ideal contractor understands that the caregiver is a co-participant and that play is the core methodology at this stage.
SERVICE SCOPE (RESPONSIBILITIES)
- Develop and lead engaging, age-appropriate music sessions for infants and toddlers (ages 0–4) and their caregivers.
- Utilize your choice of songs, rhymes, movement, percussion, and sensory activities to support developmental milestones.
- Facilitate a welcoming environment that encourages caregivers to actively co-participate.
- Provide consistent, high-quality music instruction while maintaining a nurturing session structure.
- Share expertise with parents regarding child development and home-based musical engagement.
- Maintain professional standards, integrity, and respect in all interactions with the Conservatory community.
- Autonomously manage your own teaching methods and session flow to meet student progress goals.
- Fulfill agreed-upon scheduled sessions with reliability and professional self-management.
CONTRACTOR PROFILE
We seek a professional who is warm, patient, and knowledgeable about early childhood music development. You should be able to work independently to deliver high-quality enrichment services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional experience working with infants and/or toddlers in group settings.
- Proven ability to deliver group music instruction and facilitate parent-child sessions.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practice.
- Proficiency in singing, basic rhythmic instruments, and movement-based activities.
- Ability to provide your own teaching tools or materials as needed (though facility space is provided).
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Saturday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Instructors set and manage their own schedules within these operational hours based on their availability and student demand.
Compensation: Fees for services are negotiated based on education level, specialized expertise, and instruction delivery. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. As a contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes and business expenses.
