What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Maintenance Technician position at Rockford Mass Transit District?
- Perform daily facilities maintenance, minor & major repair work of buildings and equipment.
- Assist in facility upkeep including plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, and grounds work.
- Perform preventive maintenance and complete checklists on procedures while keeping records of procedures.
- Detect, report, and repair defective equipment.
- Clean, repair, install, paint bus shelters and bus stop signs.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
- Perform snow removal and custodial duties as required.
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned.
- Follow directions and work orders, completing work w/min. supervision.
Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodations. Work hours are primarily weekdays, 10 am to 6:30 pm but may vary.
HS diploma or GED & 3 yrs. experience. Starting wage $30.34 per hour with generous benefits. Hiring bonus of $1500 available.
