The Client:
Our client is a globally established international financial institution with a growing North American commercial real estate finance platform. The organization specializes in cross-border lending and institutional real estate financing and offers employees exposure to sophisticated transactions within a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. This opportunity supports a lean and highly visible team focused on commercial real estate origination, underwriting, and portfolio management across the U.S. and Canadian markets.
What you will achieve in this role:
- Support commercial real estate loan origination and portfolio management activities across a variety of asset classes
- Assist with underwriting, financial modeling, due diligence, credit analysis, and transaction execution
- Analyze property cash flows, leasing assumptions, collateral quality, and market risk factors
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including credit, legal, syndications, compliance, and operations teams
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for covenant compliance, reporting requirements, and overall portfolio performance
- Conduct market research and analyze real estate trends across major North American markets, including Canada
- Prepare internal and external presentations, reporting packages, and investment materials
- Support client onboarding processes and ongoing KYC/AML compliance requirements
- Assist with portfolio reporting, data management, and special project initiatives as needed
What you must bring to this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field
- Experience or internship exposure within commercial real estate finance, banking, underwriting, credit analysis, or lending environments
- Strong financial analysis and quantitative skillset with the ability to evaluate complex transactions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and client-facing environment
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong time management and multitasking capabilities
- Exposure to Canadian real estate markets or cross-border transactions considered an asset
- German language skills considered an asset but not required
