Position Summary
Robert Walters, New York specializes in permanent career placement in the following areas: Legal, Risk Management, Compliance, Banking, Technology, Finance, Business Operations, Sales, and Marketing. With offices spanning 31 Countries, RW offers a truly global recruitment service to both clients and candidates alike.
The Consultant with Robert Walters will be a senior figure within the team, working autonomously with clients, managing and developing strong relationships and creating new business opportunities. The Principal Consultant will be a consistent high achiever and top biller, winning new business. While the Principal Consultant will have no direct line management responsibility, they will act as a role model to other consultants.
Responsibilities
Our New York team partners directly with SME financial institutions, venture backed startups in and around the New York area, as well as some household names in the banking sector. You'll mostly be consulting hiring managers, founders and CEO's helping them hire the very best emerging leadership talent in the market.
- Lead recruitment assignments that require creative applications of knowledge to specific recruitment challenges
- Generating new business by networking, gathering market information and making business development calls
- Organizing and attending meetings with prospective clients
- Developing existing relationships
- Entertaining clients within and outside core business hours
- Managing and developing own client list
- Sending CVs to clients, either for existing roles or on a speculative basis
- Developing and Managing our Client Portfolio
- Ensuring the Robert Walters database accurately reflects all business dealings with clients and candidates
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of their relevant markets
Business Development
Meeting Set Targets In Relation To:
- Continually seeking and identifying areas for business growth
- Representing RW at meetings with new clients in order to win new business
- Managing and closing complex deals
- Upholding and demonstrating Robert Walters corporate values and selling our unique and value-add services
- Generating new business by networking, promoting the brand, gathering market information and making business development calls
- Regularly selling print and digital advertising for roles in the relevant trade press
- Identifying opportunities to develop the wider business
- Understanding Robert Walters terms of business and negotiating fees (within pre-agreed parameters) to secure new and retain existing business
Client/Account Management
Meeting Set Targets In Relation To:
- Handle accounts and taking responsibility for key relationships
- Manage client relationships and expectations at all times
- Problem resolution
- Attain comprehensive knowledge of each client's organization, culture, and resourcing requirements
- Maintain and exceed SLA's that are in place with our clients at all times
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term recruitment campaigns on behalf of clients
- Ensuring regular contact with clients to build positive, productive, and long-term corporate relationships
- Professionally and effectively managing the recruitment process from start to finish
- Writing and placing job advertisements and producing weekly mail shot literature
- Ensuring only high-quality candidates are put forward to our clients for interview
- Providing market updates to clients and colleagues
Candidate Management
- Sourcing, selecting and matching candidates with appropriate positions
- Organizing and coordinating interviews with candidates and fully briefing candidates regarding roles
- Ensuring regular contact with candidates by providing feedback and communication
- Following up on referrals and leads
Administrative Tasks
- Writing regular advertising and marketing material such as mail shot literature
- Ensuring that the Profile system accurately reflects all business dealings with clients and candidates
- Ensuring candidates are coded correctly and the files reflect and hold all required statutory information

About You
To join us as a Consultant, your skills and experience should include:
- 5 years of recruitment experience preferred
- Management experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, not required.
- The ability to align day-to-day plans with long-term business goals
