Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant

We are looking for a skilled Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant to join our team in Garden City, New York. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to support a dynamic legal practice specializing in trust and estates, real estate, and litigation. Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with trust and estate matters, including estate planning and litigation.

• Provide support for both residential and commercial real estate transactions.

• Handle e-filing and court filings with accuracy and efficiency.

• Manage attorneys' calendars and schedules to ensure deadlines are met.

• Proofread and review legal documents for errors and inconsistencies.

• Prioritize tasks effectively to meet the demands of a busy legal environment.

• Collaborate with the paralegal and legal team to ensure smooth operations.

• Adapt to constructive feedback to improve work quality and processes.

• Maintain organized records and files for swift retrieval.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Trusts & Estates Legal Assistant or in a related role.

• Proficiency in e-filing and court filing systems.

• Familiarity with trust and estates; residential and commercial real estate familiarity is a plus.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy in proofreading and document preparation.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

• Ability to accept and incorporate constructive criticism effectively.

• Experience in estate planning and litigation is highly desirable.
