Tax Preparer

We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Janesville, Wisconsin. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely tax preparation while collaborating with office staff to maintain smooth operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise in tax services and accounting systems.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with the office assistant to ensure seamless completion of tax-related tasks.
• Utilize accounting software systems such as Drake Tax Software, CCH ProSystem Fx, and CCH Sales Tax to manage tax preparation processes.
• Review financial documents, allowances, and deductions to identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
• Maintain organized and detailed records of all tax-related data and transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client queries and offering tax-related guidance.
• Conduct thorough audits of financial statements to ensure data accuracy.
• Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Handle data entry tasks efficiently to support tax preparation workflows.
• Proven experience in tax preparation, including individual and business tax filings.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Drake Tax Software, CCH ProSystem Fx, and CCH Sales Tax.
• Strong understanding of accounting functions, deductions, allowances, and financial services.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Familiarity with ADP and other financial tools is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Solid knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
