Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Staff Accountant to join a reputable professional services firm in downtown Tacoma on a temporary basis. The focus of this role will be on Accounts Payable (AP) functions, leveraging your expertise in processing, reconciling, and managing expenditures to support the firm's financial operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Management: Process and code invoices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies and vendor agreements. (Source: RH Acronym Guide.docx context: Accounts Payable)
• Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies, answer payment inquiries, and ensure timely processing of payables.
• Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of AP accounts, including monthly reconciliation of vendor statements.
• Expense Reporting: Review staff expense reports for accuracy and adherence to company policies prior to processing reimbursements.
• Transaction Review: Assist in the preparation of journal entries related to AP transactions, ensuring proper documentation and general ledger postings.
• Support Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in all Accounts Payable activities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team to support the accounting cycle and contribute insights during budget preparations and audits.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of recent experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
• Detail-Oriented: Strong ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with vendors and internal stakeholders effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset to proactively identify discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
• Availability: Immediate or short-term notice preferred for onboarding into this temporary role.
