POSITION: SR. TAX ACCOUNTANT - PUBLIC ACCOUNTING

We are looking for a dedicated Sr. Tax Staff member to join our highly respected local CPA firm client located near New Haven, Connecticut. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in public accounting and tax preparation, who is ready to contribute their expertise to a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.

• Utilize CCH ProSystem Fx and other tax software to efficiently manage tax preparation tasks and reporting.

• Conduct thorough research on tax-related issues, providing clear and actionable recommendations.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

• Assist clients in understanding and resolving tax matters, offering tailored and precise guidance to meet their needs.

• Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.

• Use Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.

• Support public accounting initiatives by maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

• Participate in training sessions to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.

• Handle additional tax-related projects as assigned to meet organizational goals.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation.

• Proficiency in Tax software.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or active pursuit of certification is preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of tax laws and regulations.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
