Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, you will assist the Director and Assistant Director of Accounting in ensuring accurate financial reporting, improving processes, and fostering collaboration within the Accounting team and across departments. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to contribute to the financial success of a hospitality-focused organization.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts for hotel and roadside property operations with accuracy and precision.
• Ensure intercompany worksheets align with general ledger accounts to maintain data consistency.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities in collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director of Accounting.
• Prepare and distribute bi-monthly General Ledger reports to department heads, addressing any questions or concerns.
• Provide requested financial information promptly to internal and external auditors.
• Assist in the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns to ensure compliance.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline accounting workflows and enhance efficiency.
• Monitor internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Take on additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the department's goals.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry, and auditing standards.
• Familiarity with office protocols, processes, and equipment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and leadership.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess and solve financial challenges.
• High attention to detail with a strong commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with financial software such as Sun Systems, Coupa, or similar platforms is advantageous.
