Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This position offers the flexibility of working fully remote and is ideal for professionals with expertise in non-profit/governmental accounting. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Perform bank reconciliations for multiple accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

• Handle account reconciliations, including balance sheet accounts, to ensure proper documentation.

• Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline accounting processes and ensure efficient operations.

• Assist in setting up outsourced accounting systems to facilitate smooth transitions.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant

• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in performing bank and account reconciliations.

• Expertise in general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with accounting software used in housing authorities.

• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
