Senior Accountant

Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a growing company that is looking to hire a Senior Accountant. This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial operations, including inventory management, fixed asset accounting, and compliance with established policies. This is a remote position that requires a candidate to have experience with inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory records to ensure they align with company policies and standards.

• Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile differences between physical and system records.

• Prepare inventory-related journal entries and ensure accurate transaction recording.

• Calculate and process depreciation expenses for fixed assets, maintaining accurate roll forward schedules.

• File property tax assessments across applicable counties and states.

• Administer programs such as Concur, Adelman, and Amex, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Maintain and update accounting policies and procedural manuals to adapt to organizational needs.

• Identify and address accounting and control issues while driving improvements in financial processes.

• Collaborate with auditors during inventory audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Generate reports on inventory metrics, providing insights to support strategic planning.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

• 5 years of experience in a fast paced and technical accounting environment

• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their practical application.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.

• Strong expertise in inventory accounting, reconciliation, and valuation methodologies.

• Experience with fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculations and tax filings.

• Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
