What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Robert Half?
My client is a growing manufacturing company that is Private-Equity owned and not planning to sell any time soon. They are in HIGH GROWTH mode and continuing to acquire companies.
Reports into a GREAT manager/mentor.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the corporate and general ledger structures.
- Perform reconciliations of the general ledger and address any discrepancies.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and accuracy.
- Automate monthly reporting processes to enhance efficiency in general ledger postings.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial journal entries and financial statements.
- Assist the Controller in preparing financial reports and conducting ad hoc analyses.
- Lead initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities in both operating and capital expenditures.
- Prepare monthly P&L updates, detailing from Gross Sales to Gross Profit.
- Ensure customer compliance with discount and allowance terms for key customers.
- Prepare month-end close reports, including Gross Sales reports, Customer Profitability, and Gross to Net reports for major customers.
- Oversee the returns process and reconcile corresponding general ledger accounts for both the balance sheet and P&L.
- Provide assistance to department supervisors and managers outside the accounting and finance departments with their inquiries and report requests.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting models.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in ERP systems is essential.

- Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
- Able to manage stress and meet deadlines effectively.
- At least 3 years of experience in finance and accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in business or accounting.
- Strong skills in leadership, supervision, and problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on achieving results.
- Proficient in Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP functions.
Salary : $85,000 - $105,000
