Public Staff Tax Accountant

We are looking for a skilled Public Staff Tax Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Fresno, California. In this role, you will prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns while ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in tax preparation and contribute to a collaborative, detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review individual tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Handle corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough tax preparation for clients, including property tax filings.
• Utilize tax software such as Ultra Tax to streamline tax-related processes.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and address tax-related inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Assist in resolving tax discrepancies and provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation for all tax filings.
• Work effectively as part of a team to support organizational goals and objectives.
• Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns.
• Proficiency in handling corporate tax returns and related documentation.
• Strong knowledge of tax preparation processes and best practices.
• Familiarity with tax software such as Ultra Tax.
• Experience with property tax returns is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them effectively.
