Paralegal

Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our legal team in Albany, New York. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting residential real estate transactions, ensuring all legal documents and processes are handled with precision. Responsibilities:

• Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and editing of purchase agreements, deeds, leases, and other real estate documents.

• Conduct title searches and collaborate with title companies to address issues such as liens or property encroachments.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to residential real estate transactions.

• Provide support during closings by preparing settlement statements and reviewing final documentation.

• Coordinate with realtors, lenders, and clients to gather necessary documents and secure signatures within required timelines.

• Respond promptly to inquiries and keep all parties informed on the progress of transactions.

• Resolve issues that arise during the closing process and escalate significant matters to attorneys when needed.

• Manage transaction timelines and deadlines to meet legal and contractual obligations.

• Maintain organized electronic records of transaction documents and conduct post-closing follow-ups, such as recording deeds and ensuring funds are disbursed correctly.

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience as a paralegal with a focus on residential real estate transactions.
• Strong knowledge of real estate laws, closing processes, and escrow procedures.
• Proficiency in using legal software and document management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
