We are seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team on 2nd Shift. In this role, you will provide technical and administrative support for laptops, printers, peripheral hardware, and various software applications. You will also troubleshoot connectivity and system issues for end-users while maintaining a high level of support and customer service across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and repair laptops, including hardware diagnostics and component replacement.
- Perform Windows Systems Administration across all workstation platforms.
- Manage Active Directory (AD) accounts and organizational email accounts.
- Integrate new systems into the network and domain and configure file and folder permissions.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for laptops and network devices.
- Install, configure, and upgrade software applications and workstations.
- Perform preventative maintenance and software updates, including patch management.
- Assist employees in using standard and specialized software applications confidently and effectively.
- Participate in cabling projects and network installations.
- Install and configure printers (both serial and Ethernet-connected), including LaserJet and Zebra models.
- Install and troubleshoot barcode scanners and related hardware.
- Maintain detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and support actions.
- Support the Systems Administrator with network and server troubleshooting, as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a small to medium-sized Client/Server environment.
- Certifications like A and Net are required; MCP certification is strongly preferred.
- An associate degree in IT or related certifications is a plus.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems ranging from Windows 7 to Windows 11.
- Familiarity with Windows Server versions spanning 2003 to 2019.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server and Active Directory.
- Competency with Microsoft SQL and key networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and wireless connectivity.
- Knowledge of standard network protocols, including HTML, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, IMAP, and Telnet.
- Familiarity with Cisco switch configurations and Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
- Perform tasks such as stooping, squatting, or standing for extended periods.
- Capacity to walk or stand on cement floors for prolonged periods.
- Good visual acuity for detailed IT work.
- Comfort operating lifts for cabling projects.
