Front End Developer

We are looking for an experienced Front-End Developer to join our team in Syracuse, New York. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work on modernizing WordPress ecosystems, ensuring compatibility with cutting-edge technologies, and optimizing user experiences. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in WordPress development, JavaScript, and GitHub, as well as a passion for delivering high-quality solutions tailored to complex requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Upgrade WordPress themes to support the latest WordPress core and ensure compatibility with required technologies.
• Replace outdated systems, such as Legacy Events, with modern options to streamline functionality.
• Transition Customizer settings to a dedicated Theme Options page to enhance usability.
• Update and migrate multiple WordPress sites, identifying and documenting necessary remediation steps for seamless upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve compatibility issues with hosting environments and provide actionable solutions.
• Collaborate on code reviews and version control using GitHub to maintain development integrity.
• Document conflicts and solutions for site-specific issues, ensuring clarity and ease of future reference.
• Work closely with stakeholders to implement best practices for performance optimization and security.
• Assist in deploying sites using CI/CD pipelines for efficient WordPress development workflows.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in WordPress theme development and customization.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Familiarity with hosting environments and deployment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex compatibility issues across multiple sites.
• Strong skills in documentation and communication to support team collaboration.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques and security best practices.
• Experience in migrating legacy WordPress sites to modern standards.
