Controller - Private Equity
A lean, high-capital investment organization is seeking a hands-on finance leader to own all accounting, finance, tax, and treasury functions across a multi-entity portfolio. This role reports directly to the partners and is ideal for someone who thrives in both strategic and “in the weeds” execution.
What You’ll Do
- Lead full-cycle financial management for multiple portfolio entities, including financial statements, cash flow, and budgeting
- Oversee treasury functions: liquidity management, cash forecasting, AP, and revolver activity
- Manage credit facilities—including covenant compliance, lender reporting, revolver usage, debt service, and interest expense oversight
- Drive year-end audits and tax processes with external advisors
- Partner with internal teams and third-party administrators to analyze revenue and optimize expense allocations
- Support investment team needs, including acquisition analyses, valuations, and investor reporting
- Implement and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
- 6–10 years in accounting (with strong accounting exposure)
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, tax basics, monthly close, and P&L/cash flow management
- Direct experience managing credit facilities and interest expense
- Ability to toggle between strategic oversight and detail-oriented execution
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- Experience in a PE-backed company or private equity environment is a strong plus
- Self-starter who operates independently and collaborates effectively with teams and external partners
Salary : $125,000 - $190,000
