Family Law Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join a boutique family law firm in the East Bay. As part of a tight-knit team, you will play a critical role in supporting attorneys with legal documentation, case management, and client communication. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your expertise is valued and your contributions make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

• Manage attorney schedules, including hearings, client meetings, and other appointments.

• Draft, edit, and distribute correspondence and legal documents.

• Prepare judicial council forms, including judgment packets and other required filings.

• Draft pleadings such as stipulations, declarations, and discovery requests and responses.

• Organize and maintain client documents, ensuring accessibility and compliance with legal standards.

• Ensure adherence to California Rules of Court, Family Codes, and local rules for Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

• Coordinate the filing and service of legal documents, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

• Track and record billable hours to meet annual billing expectations.

• Provide support for miscellaneous tasks as needed to assist the team.

• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in California family law.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Proficiency with case management software and familiarity with legal documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to support team members.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Knowledge of discovery, civil litigation, trial preparation, and family law procedures.
