Document Specialist

Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled PDF Forms Specialist with strong technical expertise in Adobe Acrobat to troubleshoot, rebuild, and optimize fillable PDF forms that contain multi-step calculation logic. This role is focused on fixing and improving the underlying functionality, not visual design.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and debugging complex calculated fields in Acrobat, ensuring forms calculated accurately and consistently across all required use cases.

Duration: Short-term contract

Location: 100% remote - Portland Based client

Rate: up to $50/hourly (W2)

Responsibilities

• Review existing fillable PDF forms (20 currently in use) to assess calculation issues and logic errors.
• Rebuild, correct, and optimize multi-step calculations within Adobe Acrobat.
• Update or recreate interactive form fields while maintaining existing formatting and templates.
• Ensure all embedded calculations function accurately and consistently.
• Test and validate form performance to ensure calculations are correct across various scenarios.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand calculation requirements and troubleshoot problem areas.
• Provide recommendations for improving form logic, structure, or stability.
  

• Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro, specifically in form creation and form field logic.
• Strong understanding of calculated fields, custom calculations, and multi-step logic workflows within Acrobat.
• Experience diagnosing and correcting miscalculations or broken form logic in existing PDFs.
• Ability to work within pre-existing templates - no design or branding work required.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in logic building.
• Ability to clearly document logic changes and communicate technical updates to non-technical users.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with JavaScript in Adobe Acrobat for advanced calculation customization.
• Prior experience working with high-volume, standardized PDF forms.
• QA or testing background related to form functionality.
