Director of Finance

We are looking for a skilled and strategic Director of Finance to join our team in San Diego, California. This role involves leading financial planning and analysis, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and supporting operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will play a key role in safeguarding assets, enhancing profitability, and driving long-term growth.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage annual business plans, quarterly forecasts, and monthly financial updates for submission to corporate leadership.
• Lead the preparation and review of internal financial reports, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement strategies that optimize divisional growth, profitability, and cost management.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and recommend profit-enhancing strategies to improve organizational performance.
• Oversee the accuracy of accounting processes and internal reporting while maintaining financial integrity.
• Participate in land acquisition processes, ensuring alignment with divisional growth objectives and risk management.
• Monitor and approve field purchase orders, recurring payments, and other financial transactions to maintain operational efficiency.
• Serve as a key advisor on significant accounting issues, fostering communication between divisional and centralized accounting teams.
• Facilitate the creation and execution of actionable strategies to meet organizational goals effectively.
• Partner with leadership to enhance reporting tools and implement best practices across the division.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required; Master’s Degree is preferred.
• CPA licensure or willingness to obtain certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 6 years of financial management experience in the homebuilding industry.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience is essential.
• Proven track record of success in progressively responsible financial leadership roles within publicly traded organizations.
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive profitability.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives.
