We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Sykesville, Maryland. This position is an individual contributor role with high visibility to the C-Suite.For additional information, reach out to Adam Dean at adam.dean@roberthalfResponsibilities:• Monitor and manage project accounting processes, including cost tracking, progress billing, and financial reporting.• Prepare and analyze monthly Work In Progress (WIP) reports to evaluate project profitability and overall financial performance.• Collaborate with project managers and leadership to maintain budgets, forecast expenses, and address financial challenges.• Ensure compliance with audits, regulatory filings, and workers' compensation requirements.• Review and approve subcontractor invoices, payments, and lien waivers with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.• Develop and implement efficient accounting procedures to enhance accuracy in financial reporting.• Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff at the entry level to strengthen team expertise.• Work closely with external auditors, clients, and vendors to resolve financial discrepancies and build effective relationships.• Deliver financial recommendations and insights to support organizational decision-making.• Ensure billing aligns with contract requirements and submit progress payments with precision.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
