What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at Robert Half?
Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a key role supporting operational finance and driving accurate, data-driven decisions across the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and release new product costings in collaboration with Operations and Finance teams
- Calculate and track overhead costs, providing regular reporting and insights
- Analyze and report on variances in yield, production, and purchasing
- Perform inventory cycle count analysis and assist with inventory reporting
- Oversee and manage the Precious Metals process
- Conduct ROI analysis and prepare supporting documentation for CAPEX requests
- Maintain account reconciliations and support SOX compliance as assigned
- Lead forecasting and budgeting activities for Operations cost centers (expenses, capex, headcount)
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries
- Support requests from external auditors during reviews and audits
- Participate in cross-functional projects, including ERP implementations, system upgrades, and acquisition integrations
