We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial records, analyzing costs, and ensuring accurate reporting to support decision-making processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a solid understanding of cost accounting principles.Responsibilities:• Maintain accurate financial records, including vendor files and supplier contracts, while ensuring proper documentation is securely stored.• Process invoices by verifying details, entering them into the system, and managing inter-company transactions.• Post weekly payments into the system and ensure timely processing.• Prepare and deliver accounts payable aging reports, along with other financial reports as needed.• Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts, vendor prepayments, and accounts payable balances.• Analyze costs by understanding the relationships between raw materials, work orders, inventory, and production processes.• Perform physical inventory counts and apply wall-to-wall inventory concepts when required.• Provide support during month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.• Collaborate with various departments to resolve financial discrepancies and improve processes.• Report directly to the Accounting Manager and contribute to the overall success of the accounting team.
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
