What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Financial Accounting Analyst position at Robert Half?
We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our client in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This is a contract with the possibility convert to permanent. They offer an opportunity to contribute to critical financial processes and collaborate across departments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in general ledger accounting and revenue recognition, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Manufacuring experience a plus!
Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries, reconciliations, and accruals to ensure compliance and completeness in financial reporting.
• Oversee revenue recognition processes, including tracking milestone payments and calculating commission accruals.
• Assist with invoicing tasks to support cash flow management and operational efficiency.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger reconciliations in preparation for reporting cycles.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Controller during month-end and year-end close processes to ensure seamless execution.
• Utilize ERP systems, such as Sightline, Sage, or similar platforms, to streamline financial tracking and reporting.
• Support inventory and cost accounting functions, especially within manufacturing environments.
• Provide financial insights by analyzing variances, trends, and metrics to guide decision-making.
• Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Take on new responsibilities in areas like financial planning and analysis or cost accounting to support growth.
• At least 2 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in revenue recognition processes, including milestone payments and commission accruals.
• Familiarity with complex ERP systems. ERPs such as Sightline, Sage, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting practices is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively in a hybrid work setting.
