Construction Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Construction Accountant to join our team in Whitney, Texas. This contract-to-permanent position requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in project and construction accounting. The role involves managing financial processes for construction projects, ensuring compliance, and providing support to field teams and project managers.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process billing documentation, including AIA forms, certified payroll forms, and lien waivers.
• Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to accurately track accounts receivable and ensure proper coding.
• Oversee the submission and approval of expense reports using Concur, providing guidance to field teams on correct coding practices.
• Manage sales tax filings and compliance for all applicable states and counties.
• Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and leadership to address billing, expense, and compliance inquiries promptly.
• Assist field teams in understanding and completing necessary documentation for accounting processes.
• Ensure all paperwork aligns with accounting standards and project requirements.
• Provide support to field staff, helping them navigate financial procedures and documentation requirements.

Experience with AIA billing, certified payroll, lien waivers

Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop, Concur, and advanced Excel

Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to coach others

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-directed

Construction or project-based accounting experience preferred
