We are looking for a skilled and motivated Collections Specialist to join our team in Orange, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will be responsible for ensuring timely payments and maintaining strong relationships with clients while supporting the Accounts Receivable department. This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and a proactive approach to resolving billing issues and managing receivables.Responsibilities:• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices, short payments, and disputes by collaborating with internal teams like billing and customer success.• Keep accurate and detailed records of collection activities, including payment commitments and follow-ups.• Review aging reports regularly and provide updates on account statuses to management.• Perform timely follow-ups on overdue accounts to minimize Days Sales Outstanding.• Assist in applying and reconciling customer payments when necessary.• Contribute to the month-end close process by reporting on delinquent accounts and anticipated recoveries.• Maintain a customer-focused approach while collecting payments and addressing issues.• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement solutions for recurring billing challenges.• 2–4 years of experience in business-to-business collections, ideally within a technology, service, or subscription-based industry.• Solid knowledge of accounts receivable processes and effective collection strategies.• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to remain detail oriented under challenging circumstances.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks.• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.• Experience thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.• Knowledge of commercial and consumer collections processes and billing practices.• Familiarity with accounts receivable functions within construction or similar industries is a plus.
