Category Analyst

We are looking for a highly skilled Category Analyst to join our team in Irvine, California. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to combine data analysis expertise with sales support functions in a dynamic environment. As a Contract-to-permanent position, this role offers the potential for long-term growth within the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Analyze and maintain sales data, including customer and market performance metrics, to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with sales teams to develop accurate projections and ensure data integrity.
• Create comprehensive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for senior management.
• Identify and address inconsistencies or missing data by working directly with sales representatives.
• Forecast industry trends and sales potential using historical and current data.
• Conduct thorough research on market dynamics to inform pricing strategies and category management.
• Present detailed sales performance reports and recommendations to stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Optimize sales activities by identifying areas for improvement and implementing data-driven solutions.
• Utilize tools like Salesforce and Microsoft Excel to streamline data reporting and analysis processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Statistics, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in the consumer goods industry, particularly food or grocery sectors.

• Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and formulas.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast trends and interpret complex data sets.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with remote sales teams and stakeholders.

• Ability to create and present dashboards and reports using visualization tools.

• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on ensuring data accuracy and quality.

• Experience in category management and pricing strategy development.
