Bookkeeper

We are looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our team in South Portland, Maine. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small office environment and has a passion for working with numbers and maintaining accurate financial records. If you have excellent data entry skills and a strong understanding of bookkeeping practices, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy.
• Utilize data entry skills to input and manage financial information effectively.
• Prepare financial reports and summaries as required.
• Collaborate with team members to support retail merchandising activities.
• Operate and navigate Microsoft Office applications to support bookkeeping tasks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies and reconciling accounts.
• Provide support during audits and financial reviews when necessary.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related role.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in data entry and accuracy in managing financial information.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and handle accounts efficiently.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Comfortable working in a small office environment.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
