Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accountant to assist with day-to-day financial recordkeeping and basic accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, be comfortable working independently, and maintain accuracy in all financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions (income, expenses, invoices, receipts, etc.)
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and process invoices, payments, and bank deposits
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Assist with payroll preparation and expense reimbursements
- Track accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain organized digital and paper filing systems
- Generate basic financial reports as requested (e.g., profit/loss, balance sheet)
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal staff to resolve discrepancies
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a bookkeeper, accounting assistant, or similar role
- Proficiency with accounting software - QuickBooks
- Basic understanding of GAAP and bookkeeping principles
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information responsibly
