Assistant Controller

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Macomb, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and finance, particularly in manufacturing environments, and who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative setting. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to financial planning, reporting, and operational efficiency at a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Manage the general ledger, including account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to drive informed decision-making.
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and business plans in collaboration with management.
• Monitor and optimize manufacturing cost accounting practices.
• Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with revenue recognition principles and standards.
• Conduct cash flow analysis and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with plant operations teams to enhance financial processes and controls.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with manufacturing or plant experience preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
• Proficiency in cost accounting and production accounting methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger management.
• Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) is highly desirable.
• Expertise in revenue recognition principles and their application.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with plant teams.
