Accounts Receivable Clerk

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Richmond, Kentucky. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payment applications and customer account maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for a meticulous individual to contribute to the financial operations of our organization.

Responsibilities:
• Process and record all cash, check, and credit card payments received from customers.
• Apply incoming payments to appropriate customer accounts with accuracy.
• Follow up on overdue invoices and manage collections efficiently.
• Handle the creation and processing of deposits, credit memos, debit memos, finance charges, and write-offs.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding account terms, statements, and credit inquiries.
• Set up and maintain new customer accounts, ensuring tax exemptions and terms are properly documented.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on far past due accounts after obtaining necessary approvals.
• Maintain accurate records of customer documents, including resale certificates and W-9 forms.
• Interact with customers in a calm and organized manner to resolve account issues.
• Prioritize and organize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role.
• Proficiency in handling commercial collections and cash applications.
• Strong knowledge of billing functions and processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills to handle deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
• Familiarity with maintaining tax exemption documentation and customer account records.
• Demonstrated ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
