Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Johns Island, South Carolina. This role is essential in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining financial records, and supporting the overall accounting operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment and demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
• Verify the accuracy and proper authorization of all invoices submitted for payment.
• Maintain and update the accounts payable database to ensure all records are accurate and current.
• Process check requests and manual check issuances in compliance with company policies.
• Communicate regularly with department liaisons to manage vendor payments effectively.
• Support the Director of Finance and Accounting Manager with payment cancellations and stop payment procedures.
• Organize and maintain a comprehensive filing system for all invoices and related documentation.
• Provide backup support for banking-related tasks as needed.
• Assist with incoming calls and walk-ins at the accounting office, ensuring customer inquiries are handled professionally.
• Promote and uphold the company's core values and employee constitution through actions and decision-making.
• Proven experience in accounts payable or a related bookkeeping role.
• Proficiency in handling financial records and posting payments.
• Strong knowledge of full-charge bookkeeping practices.
• Familiarity with cash handling and account record maintenance.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for routine vendor and department interactions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processes.
