What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Robert Half?
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. This is a Contract to long-term position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while contributing to an organization dedicated to improving lives. The role requires on-site presence and provides a consistent schedule with competitive hourly compensation.
Responsibilities:
• Process high volumes of invoices, ensuring correct general ledger coding, proper approvals, and timely payment.
• Accurately enter payable information into the Oracle system using invoices received through Markview.
• Apply knowledge of the company’s Chart of Accounts to code invoices correctly, seeking guidance from the AP Team Lead as needed.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is obtained for payment requests and maintain compliance with company policies.
• Audit invoices to verify accuracy and completeness before processing.
• Prepare and mail checks promptly, adhering to established timelines and policies.
• Research and resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies, addressing any unusual or questionable items.
• Collaborate with Vendor Maintenance to update vendor information and assist in setting up new vendors by obtaining required W-9 forms.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Solid math skills to handle financial data accurately.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
• Experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and entry.
• Familiarity with Oracle or similar financial systems is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
