Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to support financial operations for a company based in Rye Brook, New York. This contract position requires strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail, with a focus on financial reconciliation and database accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and advanced Excel functions to ensure precise and efficient management of financial data.Responsibilities:• Perform reconciliations for accounts, databases, and financial statements to ensure accuracy.• Process invoices and handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks.• Utilize advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and Sum If formulas, to analyze and manage data.• Conduct variance analysis and identify discrepancies in financial records.• Review and audit balance sheets and income statements for accuracy and compliance.• Perform detailed data entry and maintain organized financial records.• Assist with consolidating databases and preparing reconciled reports.• Analyze financial statements and provide insights into expense and commission trends.• Collaborate with teams to ensure timely completion of reconciliation processes.• Work with insurance-related financial data and commissions, leveraging relevant industry knowledge.• Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on reconciliation processes.• Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.• Familiarity with financial statement audits, including balance sheets and income statements.• Previous experience in an insurance agency accounting environment is preferred.• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify variances in financial data.• Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.• Experience with database consolidation and reconciliation.• Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage and interpret financial information.
