Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Spencer, Massachusetts. In this role, you will support various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise with tools like QuickBooks and Tyler Technologies Munis.

Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable (AP) transactions, including coding and verifying invoices.
• Manage accounts receivable (AR) tasks such as tracking payments and preparing deposits.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
• Utilize QuickBooks to maintain and update financial data.
• Code and process invoices in compliance with established procedures.
• Work with Tyler Technologies Munis for accounting and financial management tasks.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation as needed.
• Support the accounting team with general administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with Tyler Technologies Munis.
• Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately.
• Experience in coding and processing invoices.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
