Robar Enterprises is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing, sourcing, inventory management, and vendor relations across our fleet, mechanics shop, quarry, ready-mix operations, and affiliate companies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring parts, materials, equipment, and services are procured efficiently and cost-effectively to support daily operations and minimize downtime.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, understands heavy equipment and truck maintenance operations, and has experience working in a quarry, mining, construction materials, aggregate, or similar industrial environment. This individual will work closely with shop personnel, operations teams, vendors, and management to ensure parts, consumables, and parts are available when needed while maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records.
Procurement & Purchasing
- Source and purchase parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services for fleet, shop, quarry, plant, and other operations.
- Obtain competitive quotes and evaluate vendors based on pricing, quality, availability, and service.
- Create, issue, and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate procurement records.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and delivery schedules to support operational needs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and service providers.
- Review vendor invoices to verify pricing, quantities, and receipt of goods.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Manage inventory levels for parts, consumables, lubricants, fuel systems, and operational supplies.
- Receive and track inventory within company systems and ensure proper allocation to equipment and assets.
- Monitor usage trends and forecast purchasing needs to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
- Track warranty claims and coordinate warranty-related repairs and replacements.
Fleet, Shop & Plant Support
- Support maintenance operations by ensuring the timely availability of parts and materials for repairs.
- Coordinate with shop personnel and operations teams regarding equipment downtime and repair scheduling.
- Assist with sourcing and coordinating outside repair services and specialized vendors.
- Support quarry and ready-mix operations by procuring critical plant and production components.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain procurement databases, purchasing records, vendor files, and inventory documentation.
- Manage and develop asset and component tracking of all quarry equipment and their components within current business equipment management systems
- Generate reports related to purchasing, inventory, vendor performance, and operational costs.
- Assist management with budget tracking and cost-control initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Fleet, Safety, Accounting, and Human Resources departments as needed.
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, fleet maintenance, or related experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Preferred
- Experience working in a quarry, aggregate, mining, construction materials, ready-mix, or heavy industrial environment.
- Quarry maintenance
- Mechanically inclined with knowledge of heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, diesel engines, or plant operations.
- Experience purchasing parts and components for heavy equipment, trucks, or industrial machinery.
- Experience with inventory management systems, ERP software, Dossier, or similar maintenance platforms.
- Knowledge of vendor management, sourcing strategies, and supply chain best practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach, and climb as required.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in both office and shop/industrial environments and tolerate varying weather conditions when visiting operational sites.
Salary : $71,000 - $85,000
