The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the entire payroll function for multi multi-corporation company, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for all employees. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance standards in addition to AB219 certified payroll reporting. The Payroll Manager will lead the optimization of the payroll system, currently ADP, to streamline operations and enhance data accuracy. They will collaborate closely with HR and finance teams to align payroll activities with company policies and regulatory requirements, including state and payroll tax obligations. Ultimately, the Payroll Manager will ensure that payroll operations support organizational goals while maintaining employee satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll management experience, preferably within the transportation, manufacturing, or mining industries.
- Proven expertise in payroll tax regulations and compliance at the federal and state levels.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software systems such as ADP Enterprise.
- Strong knowledge of payroll policies and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in payroll management (e.g., CPP - Certified Payroll Professional).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools related to payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
- Oversee payroll tax filings and reporting, including federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure payroll aligns with performance reviews, compensation adjustments, and HR policies.
- Lead and mentor payroll staff, providing training and support to maintain high standards of payroll administration.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data and processes to identify and resolve discrepancies or compliance issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external payroll inquiries and audits.
