What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Duty Truck Collision Technician position at Rob's Automotive and Collision?
This role is responsible for repairing and restoring damaged commercial vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks and trailers, to pre-accident condition. The ideal candidate has experience with structural repairs, welding, and body refinishing, and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and identify parts and labor needed for collision damage.
- Fix air brakes, electrical systems, suspension, and A/C.
- Repair or replace damaged panels, frames, and structural components.
- Perform welding, straightening, and metal fabrication as needed.
- Use frame machines and measuring systems to restore vehicle alignment.
- Prep surfaces and assist with painting and refinishing as needed.
- Remove and reinstall vehicle components (lights, mirrors, trim, etc.)
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
- Complete repair orders, track time, and note warrantable repairs.
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure functionality.
- Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team. members, all Rob’s Automotive and Collision personnel and external vendors.
- Contribute to the goals of the shop, leadership team and the Company as a whole.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed including repair orders, FHWA, PM and time cards.
- Abide by all Company policies and safety rules and assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment/DOT regulations.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take appropriate actions, recommend process changes and initiate improvements.
- Be a positive role model for all team members providing support and enthusiasm – creating a professional, positive work environment.
- Work additional hours in accordance with business needs and other demands of the position.

- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
