Heavy Duty technicians are responsible for inspects, diagnoses, and repairs diesel-powered vehicles (trucks, buses, heavy equipment) by performing maintenance, using diagnostic tools, and fixing complex issues in engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems, while also documenting work, interacting with customers, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Trucks, including preventive maintenance, state inspections, DOT inspections, and follow checklists to identify faults in diesel engines, brakes, steering, transmissions, electrical and body repairs, with safety as the top priority.
- Read work orders, use diagnostic software, and follow checklists to identify faults in diesel engines, brakes, steering, and transmissions.
- Perform general or routine welding with or without prints.
- Use effective interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with team members, all Rob’s Automotive and Collision personnel and external vendors.
- Contribute to the goals of the shop, leadership team and the Company as a whole.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed including repair orders, FHWA, PM and time cards.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and take appropriate actions, recommend process changes and initiate improvements.
- Work additional hours in accordance with business needs and other demands of the position.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
