Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heavy Duty Diesel/Road Truck Technician and become a vital part of keeping commercial vehicles operating at peak performance! In this energetic role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, and industrial machinery.
Responsibilities
- Respond to roadside service calls for breakdowns and mechanical issues when needed
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
- Perform emergency repairs including electrical, hydraulic, brake, and fuel systems
- Conduct routine maintenance and preventative service in the field and in shop
- Troubleshoot and repair wiring, air systems, and engine components
- Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding repair when necessary
- Maintain service truck inventory, and shop tools, and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and DOT regulations
- Other duties assigned by manager
Experience
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic (road service experience preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulics
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not always required)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer or tablet skills for reporting and diagnostics
