- Installs, maintains, and repairs microcomputers, multimedia and telephone equipment;
- Troubleshoots and repairs computer hardware and software problems;
- Installs and maintains network wiring and equipment;
- Installs, configures, and troubleshoots locally- and network-attached printers;
- Assists in maintaining the departmental inventory of computer equipment;
- Provides technical support to faculty, staff, and students;
- Assists in answering and resolving Help Desk calls;
- Assists other technical staff in resolving work orders;
- Logs calls into the Help Desk call and work order system;
- Resolves and closes Help Desk calls and documents with meaningful resolutions;
- Provides informal point-of-use training on microcomputer and telephone hardware and software use and access to administrative systems to faculty, staff, and students;
- Assists microcomputer users with basic software applications and computer operations.

- Understanding of networking and VOIP telephone systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot network, software, multimedia, and hardware problems.
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair a variety of microcomputers, multimedia
- Ability to transfer or apply technology concepts across a variety of applications and
- Ability to communicate technical information to people with various levels of
backgrounds.
