Powersports Sales Professional – Roadside Motorsports
Roadside Motorsports is a high-volume powersports dealership located in Chittenden County, Vermont. We represent CFMoto, Kawasaki, Polaris, Stark, and Yamaha, along with a large selection of quality used inventory. We are consistently ranked among the top-volume dealerships in New England for the brands we carry and are known for having one of the strongest service departments in the region.
We are a family-oriented dealership with a long history in the industry and a strong repeat customer base. Due to the retirement of a long-time team member, we are looking to add a motivated salesperson to our team who is interested in building a long-term career with us, not just looking for a short-term job.
We sell motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, trailers, and a wide range of accessories. Our team members are enthusiasts, and we work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where no two days are the same.
Position Overview:
This position involves working directly with customers from the moment they walk through the door through the entire purchase process, including selecting the right machine, arranging financing, and delivering the unit. The right person will be friendly, organized, motivated, and comfortable working with customers and computers.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Help customers select the right motorcycle, ATV, UTV, PWC, or trailer for their needs
- Explain features, benefits, and available options
- Guide customers through financing and paperwork
- Work with the parts and service departments to support the customer’s ownership experience
- Follow up with customers and maintain relationships for repeat business and referrals
- Complete OEM online training and certifications
- Stay current on product features, factory programs, and rebates
- Maintain strong product knowledge across all brands we represent
- Assist with social media content, online listings, and customer inquiries from online platforms
Qualifications:
- Strong people skills and a positive attitude
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
- Good computer skills
- Ability to learn multiple OEM systems and training platforms
- Sales experience is preferred but not required
- Powersports knowledge or enthusiasm is a plus
- Ability to work Saturdays
- Must be able to pass a background check
Schedule:
- Tuesday through Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Closed Sunday and Monday
Who Succeeds in This Position:
People who do well in this role are friendly, organized, motivated, and comfortable talking with customers throughout the day. This is a fast-paced environment during the busy season, and time management, follow-up, and customer service skills are very important. An interest in motorcycles and powersports is a big advantage.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary starting at $30,000 plus commission
- Typical total compensation ranges from approximately $60,000 to $100,000 per year depending on performance
- Top performers have historically earned well into six figures
