Job Summary:
A Redi Mix Concrete Batcher is responsible for producing concrete mixes that meet job specifications and quality standards. This role involves operating batching equipment, measuring materials accurately, and coordinating with drivers, dispatch, and quality control to ensure timely and consistent concrete production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the concrete batching system to produce mixes according to job specifications
- Accurately measure and load raw materials (cement, aggregates, water, admixtures)
- Monitor mix consistency, slump, and overall quality during production
- Communicate with dispatch, QC technicians, and drivers to coordinate orders and delivery times
- Adjust mix designs as directed by QC or plant management
- Maintain records of materials used, batch tickets, and production data
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the batch plant and equipment
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues with batching systems
- Monitor material levels and notify management of shortages
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic computer skills (for operating batching systems/software)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow mix designs precisely
- Good communication and multitasking skills
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Experience in concrete or construction preferred but not required
Work Environment:
- Primarily at a concrete plant (indoor control room outdoor yard)
- Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment
- Fast-paced environment, especially during peak construction season
- May require early mornings, long hours, and overtime
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
