What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Engineering Inspection - Permits position at Road Commission For Oakland County?
Job Duties: Under the supervision of the Project Engineer:
- Plans and supervises the work of Engineering Inspector IIs and is responsible for all permit reviews and inspection in designated areas of the county.
- Performs the most advanced and complex inspection assignments and serves as the technical expert concerning area activities.
- Informs and confers with the Permit Engineer regarding emergencies, unexpected changes to the design of project or traffic control issues.
- Coordinates inspection coverage during absences.
- Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
- Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
- Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible technical experience in highway design and engineering which involved construction and/or permit inspection activities
- Experience as the lead or supervisor of support staff employees, or equivalent experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid Driver's License.
