What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufactured Housing Maintenance Technician position at RJR Maintenance & Management?
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Manufactured Housing Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair manufactured/mobile homes and community infrastructure. This role focuses on ensuring homes are safe, functional, and well-maintained while providing prompt, professional service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in mobile/manufactured homes, including:
- Plumbing repairs (water lines, drains, fixtures)
- Electrical repairs (lighting, outlets, breakers – basic)
- HVAC and furnace troubleshooting (basic)
- Interior and exterior repairs (doors, windows, flooring, drywall)
- Repair and install skirting, siding, soffit, insulation, and minor exterior components
- Inspect and maintain water, sewer, and utility connections
- Prepare homes for move-in and turnover (make-ready work)
- Perform winterization and seasonal maintenance
- Conduct property inspections and preventative maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used
- Work collaboratively with management and vendors on larger repairs
- Provide respectful, courteous service to residents
On-Call & Seasonal Expectations
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies
- Respond promptly to issues such as water leaks, no heat, electrical concerns, and weather-related problems
- Snow removal during winter months includes both scheduled routes and on-call response, depending on weather conditions and community needs
- On-call compensation includes a stipend plus overtime pay for time worked, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
Company Vehicle
- A company vehicle is provided for use during company work hours to perform assigned job duties
- Vehicle use is for business purposes only and subject to company vehicle policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Maintenance experience preferred; mobile or manufactured home experience is a strong plus
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC basics, and general construction
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs]
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
