School Cook Riverview School, an independent coeducational boarding/day school, provides a caring community for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities. We are seeking a Cook to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to students and staff in a supportive, mission-driven environment. This position plays an important role in creating a positive dining experience while helping support a diverse population of students. Working closely with Riverview's Lead Cook and culinary leadership team, the Cook will assist with all aspects of daily meal preparation, food service, kitchen operations, and food safety. The ideal candidate is dependable, collaborative, organized, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals for students and staff using standardized recipes and established production procedures.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organization.
- Receive, store, and rotate food and supply deliveries.
- Assist with inventory management and food production records.
- Complete required food safety and HACCP documentation, including temperature and sanitation logs.
- Support special events, community meals, and fundraising activities.
- Assist with dishwashing, cleaning, and organization of kitchen and storage areas as needed.
- Communicate student preferences and feedback to culinary leadership.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and visitors.
- Follow all Riverview policies, food service standards, and Department of Health regulations. Qualifications
- At least one year of professional cooking experience.
- ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain certification before employment.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and basic cooking techniques.
- Ability to follow recipes, production schedules, and preparation quantities accurately.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

- Ability to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.
- Ability to walk extended distances, climb stairs, and generally navigate a large campus enviroment
- Occasional environmental exposures to inclement weather. Other Requirements:

- Suitable background check and fingerprinting results
- CPR/AED/Standard First Aid or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
