What You’ll Do
- Guide & Inspire: Lead engaging group sessions and 1-on-1 mentorship tailored to participants’ individual goals and interests.
- Create & Connect: Plan, adapt, and facilitate vibrant activities—from creative arts to job readiness—and build ties with local community partners.
- Drive Adventure: Transport and accompany participants safely on local outings, events, and vocational opportunities across Cape Cod.
- Advocate & Support: Champion person-centered growth, helping participants develop independence, self-advocacy, and social confidence.
- Shape the Future: Bring your big ideas to help build and refine our evolving start-up program.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Skills
- Passionate Advocate: Experience working with adults with IDD in community, direct support, or educational settings (Bachelor’s degree in Special Ed, Psychology, Social Work, or Recreation preferred).
- Creative Facilitator: Proven knack for planning group activities, adapting programs on the fly, and engaging diverse learners.
- Tech-Savvy Communicator: Excellent relationship-building skills and comfortable using modern tools (Google Suite, MS Office, documentation software).
- Adaptable & Proactive: Start-up energy! You roll with changing program needs with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Certifications & Physical Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (local/regional travel required).
- Ability to obtain/maintain CPR & First Aid certifications.
- Clear background check (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting; legal US work authorization.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs, walk moderate distances, and provide physical support/mobility assistance during transitions or emergencies.
