Position Overview
The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for providing professional maintenance to the electrical infrastructure of the facility and to ensure the continuous functionality of all life safety systems and critical buildings’ systems that require electrical power to operate uninterrupted, while supporting the business of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating work with the utilities providers and managing work performed by contracted licensed electrical companies, certified fire alarm companies, and other vendors that provide services related to, but not limited to, the electrical infrastructure of the facility.
- Works closely with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other trades to ensure electrical systems integrate with other building systems.
- Supervises all engineering staff to ensure the correct operational procedures of the physical plant, emergency electrical generators, and co-generation plant.
- Performs electrical repairs throughout the facility in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalency and a technical school diploma are required.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of work experience as an electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems with strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Computer literacy with CMMS, BAS, and Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Annual salary: $68,588
