Hours: Full Time (M – F, 9 am – 5 pm)

The Elder Justice Specialist will assist the Weinberg team in the intake process, admissions, case management, discharge plans, and safety plans for all clients. They will be actively advocating with the district attorneys’ offices, family, criminal, housing court and supreme court personnel and judges, NYPD, NYCHA, private and community guardian programs, and other social service agencies as well as testify in court hearings as needed. The EJS will collaborate with the Public Health Specialist, Program Assistant and Assistant Director to complete grant reports in a timely manner and will also manage the administration, collection and follow-up of all safety assessments completed with RiverSpring Living admissions, while working collaboratively with care teams.

- Elder abuse screening and follow-up on the RiverSpring Living campus
- Professional consultation helplines and brief client support
- Interdisciplinary policy advocacy and research
The Elder Justice Specialist will assist the Weinberg team in the intake process, admissions, case management, discharge plans, and safety plans for all clients. Essential Job Functions, Knowledge And Skills
- Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with residents.
- Conduct client centered safety assessments and safety planning suited to the individual’s needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive listening.
- Basic understanding of computer and systems for managing case records.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and well organized.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team including but not limited to attorneys, social workers, doctors, nurses, dieticians, etc.
- Proficiency in language other than English helpful but not required.
- Occasional evening and/or weekend hours required.
- LMSW or LCSW required.
- Experience preferred in geriatrics, elder abuse, health care, domestic violence, and program development.
- Annual Salary: $80,000–$90,000
