We are seeking a motivated Field Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology to support the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy-civil construction projects. The Field Engineer will work closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and schedule requirements. This role provides an opportunity for hands-on project involvement, professional growth, and exposure to the technical and operational aspects of large-scale construction.

Reports To: Project Manager / Superintendent
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in planning and daily coordination of field activities to support project delivery
· Perform quantity tracking, production tracking, and cost analysis to support project reporting
· Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
· Conduct layout, surveying, and grade checks using modern field technology
· Support quality control processes, testing requirements, and documentation
· Help develop daily and weekly schedules in cooperation with field supervision
· Track material deliveries, equipment utilization, and subcontractor performance
· Prepare, maintain, and distribute field documentation including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and as-built records
· Promote and enforce jobsite safety standards and assist with safety audits and inspections
· Interface with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to resolve field issues
· Ensure work meets required standards of workmanship, specifications, and regulatory compliance
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Working knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other basic office software
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Willingness to work in field conditions and travel to project locations as required
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum 1 – 5 years of experience in civil, highway, earthwork, utilities, or infrastructure construction
· Familiarity with surveying equipment (GPS, total station) and construction layout
· Knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and construction management software (e.g., P6, HCSS, Procore, Bluebeam)
· Understanding of safety regulations, quality management, and construction means and methods
Working Conditions
· Field-based role with regular exposure to active construction sites
· Work hours may include extended hours, weekends, and travel depending on project needs
· Position may require physical activity (walking, climbing, standing for extended periods, etc.)
